Zhengyu (otherwise known as ZY) and I hit up Tiong Bahru Bakery, finally, after all that whining of mine. We were 3rd or 4th in line and had to wait outside before there was space for us. We decided to wait and there was another queue to order our food - but that queue moved pretty fast. So as usual, here's the photo log!
While waiting, we were seated just outside the bakery and I snapped some photos^^ I'm still learning and hopefully I will be able to fully depend/use the manual mode without asking someone or referring to the internet for help.
I had the Squid Ink Bun which I thought was a pretty marvelous idea. The idea of this bun was crazy, and exotic. Well, it turns out I like crazy and exotic stuff. A tad bit salty though, I would say... I prefer savory food as opposed to sweet, so it was fine for me! The bread was however, a little disappointing. I mean, after all, it was a bakery... And I expected more crunch (lol was I expecting wrong?) and all I got were buns that were quite erm...soggy? Idk the right word, but they were just flimsy.
Enough about buns!!! Moving on...........
Am not a fan of chocolate, so instead of the chocolate croissant, I got the plain one! Which was fantastic!!! I absolutely loved this croissant! It was amazingly soft, crunchy and downright tasty! They provided jam and butter, and so I dipped the croissant in them. Not that it didn't taste good alone though!!! I loved it so much I bought 2 more home for my dad! He has a lot of expectations towards bread and to the croissant, he said, "not bad" - which are pretty damn good compliments! Trust me, he complains about bread ALL the time..........
ZY has this hazelnut croissant or something. It was WAYYYY too sweet! It was good for the first few mouths but after that everything is just too overwhelming. It's good for the sweet tooths, but zy and my teeth just were not sweet enough. It was however very soft, and a popular choice among kids!!!
This roll thing. I have NO idea what it's name is, but it is SOOOOOOOO bloody good. DAMMIT. I bought one home for my breakfast, and guess what? The next day it disappeared. Idk who ate it, but I swear it was so damn good!!!!!!!! I love it! Too sweet for ZY though. I think he secretly hates sweet stuff... Idk why he ordered sweet stuff though. Perhaps bcs they were recommended online? Hahahah! Ahhem, we do our research okay???
There you have it! Our breakfast at Tiong Bahru Bakery^^ With an old school bottle of water!
And then we were full and left the place. Hahahahahha
LOL @ my big bag of bread........... I took away $16 worth of bread. LOL. I didn't even eat anything from that pile. My family has a bread thief... Hmmmmmmm.
